Three friends go trekking in a remote Indian forest. When one of them sees a woman in a white saree at night, his behavior turns disturbing. What they discover near the river will change how you see forest legends forever.
A simple trek with a wrong decision
Rahul, Vikram, and Arjun planned a short trekking trip to the Sundarvan Forest, deep inside the Western Ghats. They were not beginners.

They had trekked before and trusted online travel blogs more than village warnings.
Locals told them not to camp near old trees or rivers after sunset.
They laughed and went anyway.
By evening, they pitched their tent near a narrow stream. A large banyan tree stood nearby. The forest looked calm, almost welcoming.
That calm did not last long.
What Rahul saw that night
After dinner, Vikram and Arjun slept inside the tent. Rahul stayed out, sitting near the fire.
Suddenly, the forest went silent.
Rahul looked up and saw a woman standing near the banyan tree.
She wore a white saree. Her hair covered her face. She did not move.
Rahul froze.
When she slowly lifted her head, her eyes locked onto his.
Rahul ran into the tent screaming.
When the others came out, the woman was gone.
But Rahul was shaking.
Something followed them after that
The next morning, Rahul refused to eat. He kept looking behind him.
As they walked, he kept slowing down, whispering things like, “She’s walking with us.”
By afternoon, Rahul started changing direction on his own.
Vikram got angry. Arjun got scared.
They decided to turn back and head home.
That’s when they realised the path had vanished.
The river clearing
As darkness approached, Rahul suddenly stopped.
“She’s waiting,” he said.
Before anyone could stop him, he ran.
They chased him and reached a river clearing.
The woman stood on the other side.
This time, her face was clear.
Not sad.
Not angry.
Smiling.
Rahul stepped into the water.
At the exact moment Arjun grabbed him, a loud metallic sound echoed across the forest.
The woman vanished.
Rahul collapsed.
The discovery that changed everything
At sunrise, forest guards found them near the river.
While helping them up, one guard stopped suddenly.
He pointed at the sand near the riverbank.
There were four sets of footprints.
Three were fresh.
One was old.
Small.
Barefoot.
Wearing a saree.
The guard went silent.
Then he said something none of them expected.
“This is not a ghost story.”
The truth no one was ready for
The guard told them that years ago, a woman in a white saree had gone missing in this forest. Search teams never found her body.
But trekkers kept reporting the same thing.
A woman who never crossed the river.
Never spoke.
Never attacked.
She only waited.
And every few years…
Someone followed her.
Rahul looked down at his arm.
Written in dried mud were faint finger marks.
Not scratches.
Not wounds.
A grip.
The guard stepped back.
“Someone crossed the river last night,” he said quietly.
“But it wasn’t her.”
Final line (end on silence)
They left the forest without looking back.
Two weeks later, Rahul received a courier.
No sender name.
Inside was his missing shoe.
Still wet.
Still muddy.
As he touched it, he went back to the forest and the river.
He was stuck there and unable to move, He saw the woman walking towards him and he wanted to just run away and go home. But she held his hand firmly...
Meanwhile, in the evening, when Arjun and Vikram came to meet Rahul, there was a crowd near Rahul's home.
Wondering what had happened, Arjun and Vikram rushed inside... only to find Rahul lying DEAD on the floor.
